A prof in my dept wishes to remind grad students, whose funding for work on journals has been cut, that "the vast majority of scholarly work is uncompensated: book reviewing, peer reviewing of articles or books, tenure reviews, conference talks (mostly), conference organization, work for professional societies, and even publications."
I do wonder what this guy thinks he gets paid for. It's like dude, you really think they give you $80k a year to teach three classes? Wow, Profs.
